Job description

The production planner will be responsible for optimizing production schedules to ensure effective resource management and meet customer order priorities. In close collaboration with the sales, customer service, engineering, and operations departments, they will adjust the production plan based on new information.

The position reports directly to the Vice President of Operations Support and Strategy.

Tasks
  • Develop optimized production schedules based on sales forecasts, customer order priorities, and workforce availability.
  • React to and integrate new information provided by sales, customer service, engineering, and/or operations teams, adjusting the production plan accordingly.
  • Communicate daily the issues impacting production to the appropriate departments.
  • Recommend action plans in response to supplier delays regarding the production schedule.
  • Complete production reports and manage key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Knowledge of inventory control and supply chain systems is a plus.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement in planning tools and processes and take the initiative to see ideas through to completion.
  • Develop, improve, and maintain procedures related to production planning.
  • Collaborate on various projects to improve productivity and product quality.
  • Participate in the validation of production parameters for new products.
  • Perform any other related tasks.
Required qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or certificate in production management and/or logistics.
  • Over 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in operations management and/or equivalent training.

  • Effective user of ERP systems. Knowledge of the Genius system is a plus.
