Max-Atlas Equipment International Inc. of Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, the largest container chassis manufacturer in Canada, announces the sale of the Company to a new group of four shareholders. The transaction, which closed on January 1, 2023, involved the transfer of all Company shares held by the founders, Tibor Varga and Andrew Morena, to the new owners. One of the new shareholders, Stéphane Guérin, will serve as President and Chief Executive Officer of Max-Atlas.

The new owners intend to build on Max-Atlas’ strengths to propel it from a Canadian leader to a North American leader. To achieve this goal, they will use their complementary expertise to implement an ambitious growth plan. Their vision for the next few years is to invest in new technologies and to attract qualified personnel to support sales growth.

“My associates and I are excited to join Max-Atlas and we look forward to using our expertise to expand its production capacity and to launch the next phase of its growth. Our vision will create a unique value proposition needed by the industry. I’m excited about the future and look forward to taking Max-Atlas to new heights,” said Stéphane Guérin, the Company’s new President and CEO.

Over the next few months, the former owners will work with the new shareholders to ensure a smooth, optimal transition of the Company’s operations and business relationships.

“My partners and I are very pleased to have found a succession team driven by human and entrepreneurial values, with the necessary skill set to ensure Max-Atlas will continue to thrive by reaching new markets,” explained Tibor Varga, co-founder of Max-Atlas.
